Delivering Results for Jeff Davis

Victims and public safety are top priorities for this administration. Lauren and her team have secured over 1,800 convictions since she took office. Murder trials are being prioritized to deliver justice without delay. Together with the help of law enforcement, they have seen tough sentences handed down to major drug traffickers, including multiple sentences of 20 years or more.

By reorganizing the court calendar into separate felony, misdemeanor, traffic, juvenile, and support enforcement tracks, Lauren has reduced backlogs and improved efficiency. Dockets are now manageable, ensuring timely outcomes for victims and defendants alike.

Getting Justice in the Courtroom

Lauren has prioritized prevention over incarceration for at-risk youth. Through the Juvenile Diversion Program:

Nearly 100 juveniles have participated in counseling, community service, and school-based accountability.
Families are actively involved in setting youths on a positive path.
Truancy cases are redirected into diversion, reversing troubling trends.

This proactive approach gives young people the tools to succeed while keeping the community safe

Juvenile Justice Reform

Lauren took office with a commitment to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Under her leadership, the District Attorney’s office now operates with a balanced budget while maintaining full staffing. This strong, stable team allows the office to serve the parish efficiently and effectively.

Restoring Accountability and Fiscal Responsibility

Recognizing the devastation of addiction, Lauren launched the Intensive Drug Intervention Diversion (IDID) Program, modeled after Drug Court. This initiative provides treatment-focused alternatives to incarceration, ensuring that individuals battling substance abuse receive help while still facing accountability.

Combating Addiction With Compassion and Accountability

Lauren believes justice isn’t only about prosecution—it’s about prevention. She has brought Speak Sobriety with Stephen Hill to every junior high and high school in the parish, reaching thousands of students with powerful education about the dangers of substance abuse.

Looking ahead, she is working to expand mentoring and outreach through national partners like Big Brothers Big Sisters, ensuring families and schools have the support they need to keep kids safe. Lauren is committed to addressing these challenges at their roots.

Safer Communities Through Prevention and Outreach

When Lauren took office, the office’s technology was outdated and inefficient. Under Lauren’s leadership, the DA’s office has adopted a new digital case management system. There is a 2025 plan in place to finalize the full technology replacement, which will prevent the office from falling behind again. These updates save time, improve case preparation, and strengthen accountability.
